Happy New Year!
As we start a new year, many of us make resolutions with the intention of “improving ourselves” in some way. Whether it's to eat healthier, exercise more, or learn a new skill, many of us have areas of our lives that we want to work on.
But as we all know, it's not always easy to stick to our resolutions and we can be incredibly hard on ourselves as a result. That's where coaching can be incredibly powerful.
Coaching can:
Help to highlight that we don’t need to be perfect to get to where we want to be.
Help us to recenter ourselves when life challenges our plans.
Help us think outside the box about our situation and ourselves.
I believe that coaching says WE don’t need to improve. We aren’t broken creatures that need to be better but rather dynamic individuals with wants and needs. Coaching can help us get there whilst removing the value judgments we impose on ourselves. We can improve skills or habits without thinking we are improving ourselves as people.
Setting specific, achievable goals and creating a plan to reach them is something coaches can help with. We can also provide accountability and support as you navigate and highs and lows of change.
There are many great tools and models online to help you but if you’d like personalized support, unique to your needs and circumstances, a coach can be a great option. We work with you to identify your strengths and areas for improvement, and help you develop strategies to overcome the challenges you may face.
If you're struggling to stick to your resolutions, consider working with a coach. They can help you stay motivated and focused, and provide the frameworks and support you need to make lasting changes.
So this year, don't just make a “New Year’s Resolution'' - resolve to achieve your goals long term, because you deserve it. Here's to a successful and fulfilling new year!
M :)
