As a life and executive coach, I have a duty of care to protect the safety and well-being of my clients. This safeguarding plan outlines the steps I will take to identify and manage risks, and to respond to concerns about abuse or neglect.

I will keep this plan up-to-date and review it regularly to ensure that it remains relevant and effective.

Definitions
-
Safeguarding is the process of protecting children and vulnerable adults at risk from harm. It includes identifying and assessing risks, and responding to concerns about abuse or neglect.

Abuse is any form of maltreatment that causes harm to a person. It can be physical, emotional, sexual, or financial.

Neglect is the failure to provide for a child's or vulnerable person's basic needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, medical care, or education.

Confidentiality

The content of coaching sessions are always confidential providing that there isn’t risk of abuse to you, by you, or by others.

Responding to concerns
-
If I have any concerns about the safety or well-being of a client, I will discuss these concerns with the client and, if necessary, with other relevant professionals.

I will also report any concerns about abuse or neglect of vulnerable people to the appropriate authorities.

I will signpost and offer support to adults not considered vulnerable where appropriate and solicited.

I will endeavour to address safeguarding concerns appropriately within their jurisdiction.

I will address all safeguarding concerns within my legal jurisdiction, regardless of where the concern originated.

Support

I will provide support to my clients who have been affected by abuse or neglect. This support may include providing information and helping to facilitate connections with expert bodies, helping them to access other, relevant services, or by simply being a listening ear.

Training

I will keep my knowledge and skills up-to-date by attending relevant training courses and workshops.

I will also consult with other professionals, such as social workers or child protection specialists, when necessary.

Review

I will review this safeguarding plan regularly to ensure that it remains relevant and effective.

Conclusion

I am committed to safeguarding the safety and well-being of my clients. I will take all reasonable steps to protect them from harm, and I will respond promptly to any concerns that are raised.
